PSU holds 2026 Education Merit-making Ceremony to support sustainable educational opportunities
Prince of Songkla University (PSU), in collaboration with the University Promotion Committee, held its 2026 Education Merit-Making Ceremony on 3 August 2026 at the Phum Panya Sin Meeting Room, Center for the Promotion of Arts and Culture, Suvarnabhumi Institute, PSU Hat Yai Campus. The event aimed to raise funds for the University's development fund to support scholarships, student development, and community service initiatives.
The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Banyat Chansena, Chairman of the University Affairs Promotion Committee, and was attended by university executives, faculty members, staff, alumni, students, and generous supporters, reflecting a shared commitment to expanding educational opportunities and strengthening the University's mission.
Participants made donations and took part in the traditional Buddhist merit-making ceremony, which included offering ceremonial robes to the monastic community, listening to Buddhist chanting, and receiving blessings from the monks. At the conclusion of the ceremony, all donations were formally presented to the University to support its educational development fund.
Following the religious ceremony, the organizing committee announced the total amount of donations received, allowing participants to share in the merit-making amid an atmosphere of generosity, unity, and community spirit.
All proceeds from the event, with no deductions for expenses, will be allocated to the University's education fund to provide scholarships, enhance student development, support creative initiatives, and promote community engagement. The ceremony reflects Prince of Songkla University's ongoing commitment to preserving Thailand's Buddhist traditions while fostering sustainable educational opportunities and investing in the nation's future through the development of human potential.
