PSU joins Southern Student Loan Network for “Hatyai Re-Live” volunteer project
Prince of Songkla University, through the Student Welfare and Scholarships Section, Division of Student Development and Alumni Relations, Hatyai Campus, organized the southern educational institutions’ Student Loan Fund volunteer project under the theme “Hatyai Re-Live: Because Hatyai Remains Bright and Ready to Move Forward.”
The project was held from May 7–9, 2026, at Wat Don School in Khu Tao Subdistrict, Hatyai District, Songkhla Province, to encourage students to learn through volunteer work, improve school environments, and contribute creatively to the community.
The activity focused on restoring and improving Wat Don School’s environment in preparation for the next academic term, while creating a more supportive atmosphere for student learning. Participants included Student Loan Fund staff and students from PSU’s five campuses, as well as representatives from higher education institutions across Southern Thailand.
In addition to school improvement activities, the project featured a creative campaign titled “Hatyai Through Your Lens: Telling Hatyai’s Story to the World,” where student groups explored Hatyai’s economic districts to promote local shops, tourist attractions, and fresh perspectives of the city through short videos shared on social media.
The project also included community engagement activities, video presentations, student awards, tokens of appreciation for partner institutions, and the handover of hosting duties for the next project.
“Hatyai Re-Live” was more than a volunteer activity. It served as an out-of-classroom learning platform that helped students develop social and emotional skills, teamwork, creative communication, and essential 21st-century competencies, while reflecting PSU’s guiding principle of placing the benefit of humanity first.
