PSU launches two innovative products from intellectual property, advancing research toward commercial use
Prince of Songkla University officially launched two new innovation products developed from the university’s intellectual property on May 8, 2026, at the Idea Tank, PSU Science Park. The ceremony was presided over by the President of the university.
This launch is part of PSU’s policy to promote the practical and commercial use of knowledge, research outcomes, and intellectual property in the business and industrial sectors.
PSU places strong importance on protecting research and inventions through intellectual property management, while supporting their development into innovation products that respond to market needs. The university aims to use science, technology, and innovation as key mechanisms to create economic value and support private sector growth.
The initiative is carried out under the Intellectual Property Center of PSU Science Park, which plays a key role in managing, protecting, promoting, and commercializing the university’s intellectual property.
The two innovative products launched this time were licensed to private companies. The first was licensed to Cella Solution Co., Ltd. for the process of preparing water-soluble dry powder nanoparticles of tetrahydrocurcumin, invented by
Assistant Professor Dr. Chitchamai Ovatlarnporn from the Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The second was licensed to Innotech Wealth Co., Ltd. for a dissolvable microneedle patch product, invented by
Ms. Julinthip Phutthawong from the Faculty of Science.
This launch marks an important step in strengthening collaboration between PSU and the private sector. It reflects the university’s role in moving research from the laboratory into real commercial application, while creating business opportunities, economic value, and sustainable innovation development for the country.
