PSU Suvarnabhumi Institute hosts grand opening of the 6th AUN-AYCF Thailand Chapter arts showcase
The Suvarnabhumi Institute of Prince of Songkla University organized the 6th AUN-AYCF Thailand Chapter from April 20–25, 2026, at PSU Hatyai Campus under the theme “Wisdom of the Land… Toward ASEAN Arts.” The program aims to honor royal initiatives, preserve cultural heritage, and provide a platform for cultural exchange among universities within the AUN-AYCF Thailand network.
A key highlight of the program was the ASEAN Arts Integration Performance, held on April 24, 2026, at Suvarnabhumi Institute Establishment Project, Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus. The event featured a range of activities reflecting cultural values and collaboration, including tribute performances, traditional costume showcases, commemorative documentary screenings, and musical performances such as ASEAN Way and the AUN-AYCF Thailand theme song.
The opening ceremony welcomed distinguished guests from the ASEAN University Network, followed by remarks from network representatives and the official opening by the President of Prince of Songkla University. A symbolic handover of the host flag for the 7th program to Rangsit University marked another important milestone of the event.
Following the ceremony, audiences enjoyed a diverse array of cultural performances, including Nora dance, Khon from the Ramakien, ASEAN traditional dances, and collaborative performances from participating countries such as Indonesia, Brunei Darussalam, Myanmar, Vietnam, and Japan—showcasing the richness and diversity of cultural expression in a contemporary context.
Additional highlights included creative performances prepared for AYCF 2026, traditional Dikir Hulu workshops, and a grand finale that brought together performers, organizers, and participants in a shared moment of cultural unity and friendship.
The program was made possible through collaboration among numerous institutions across Thailand, reflecting a strong network of academic and cultural partnerships.
This successful event underscores PSU’s role as a hub for cultural promotion and academic collaboration at both national and ASEAN levels, while reinforcing its commitment to transforming cultural heritage into a driving force for sustainable social development.
