PSU advances student mobility with “Thailand Unveiled” onsite study program for UiTM students

The Global Affairs and Corporate Communication Center, Prince of Songkla University (PSU), successfully organized the Onsite Study Program under the Thailand Unveiled: Language, Culture, Life, Business, and Sustainability Insights course from 19–25 April 2026 at PSU Hat Yai Campus. The program aimed to provide international students with immersive learning experiences in Thai language, culture, lifestyle, business, and sustainability.

This inaugural pilot cohort welcomed 10 students and 2 accompanying staff members from Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), Malaysia. The onsite learning activities formed part of the PSU Student Mobility Program, which emphasizes experiential learning through direct engagement with Thai society, culture, and local communities.

Throughout the weeklong program, participants attended lectures and workshops on Thai way of life, Thai language and culture, sustainability and the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and food innovation. Students also participated in Thai dance and Muay Thai workshops, visited PSU food laboratories, explored Songkhla Old Town and Samila Beach, and engaged in community-based learning activities related to sufficiency farming and local sustainability practices.

The opening and welcome session was presided over by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Janya Chanchaichujit, Assistant President for Promotion of Foreign Affairs, who emphasized the importance of international academic collaboration and intercultural exchange in preparing students to become globally competent citizens.

The successful completion of the program reflects PSU’s commitment to advancing internationalization, developing innovative learning opportunities for global learners, and promoting meaningful educational experiences that connect academic knowledge with Thailand’s cultural and sustainability contexts.
