Freedom 250: PSU welcomes U.S. Embassy delegation to foster collaboration for “American Fairs”




On Tuesday, April 7, 2026, Prince of Songkla University, led by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President, along with university executives including Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic Affairs and International Affairs, and Asst. Prof. Dr. Supatra Davison, Assistant President for ASEAN Affairs and the Creative Economy, welcomed Dr. Jacqueline Mourot and team from the U.S. Embassy in Thailand. The visit included a courtesy call and discussions on the organization of the upcoming “American Fairs” at PSU’s Hat Yai Campus this year, as part of the U.S. Freedom 250 initiative.



The discussions focused on planning the event to serve as a platform for presenting and exchanging knowledge on innovation, technology, entrepreneurship, and creative industries, while also showcasing contemporary American culture across multiple dimensions. 



The event is held in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the United States, aiming to strengthen mutual understanding between the peoples of both countries, promote cross-cultural learning, and foster further collaboration at the higher education level.



This visit underscores the strong relationship between Prince of Songkla University and the U.S. Embassy in Thailand, reaffirming their cooperation in the fields of education, culture, and innovation.
