PSU hosts innovation-driven entrepreneur networking event to add value and elevate Thai enterprises onto the global stage
Prince of Songkla University (PSU) organizers, led by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sunton Wongsiri, Vice President for Research and Innovation, officially opened the event titled “Connecting the Potential of Innovation-Driven Entrepreneurs to Drive Research Utilization at Prince of Songkla University.” The event was organized to showcase the achievements of entrepreneurs who have been supported and developed through the project, while also providing concrete outcomes of the initiative to sponsors and partner networks. The event was attended by university executives, honored guests, staff members, and interested participants at EILA 6 Room, 8th Floor, Learning Resource Center (LRC), Prince of Songkla University, Hat Yai Campus, on 26 March 2026.





Assoc. Prof. Dr. Sunton Wongsiri, Vice President for Research and Innovation, stated that Prince of Songkla University, as the leading higher education institution in Southern Thailand, is committed to unlocking the potential of entrepreneurs. Today’s event was therefore organized to serve as a bridge between research and the business sector. PSU seeks to bring knowledge and innovation from the laboratory to the marketplace in order to create added value and elevate Thailand’s Innovation-Driven Enterprises (IDEs) to compete on the global stage. The university places great importance on building a strong Innovation Ecosystem by bringing together key stakeholders, including researchers who create technologies and private-sector partners seeking business opportunities, to meet, collaborate, and grow together.






The event also featured a special lecture on “Thailand Crisis & Solution for Future” by Dr. Kittipong Promwong, Senior Executive Vice President of Bangkok Bank and Distinguished Member of the PSU Council; a presentation on “Transforming Innovation Businesses with Online Marketing for IDEs” by Asst. Prof. Dr. Sirawit Ittisoponpisan, TikToker from the Dr. ICE channel and lecturer at the Faculty of Science, Prince of Songkla University; and a presentation on “Opportunity for IDEs in China Market” by Mr. Richard Wang, Executive Director and representative from the Chinese Academy of Sciences Innovation Cooperation Center Bangkok (CAS-ICCB).
In addition, the program included a panel discussion on “Transforming Southern Economy through IDEs: Opportunities and Challenges for Global Scaling,” presentations of research works by PSU researchers and IDE entrepreneurs, as well as networking activities and business matching sessions for IDEs.
