Elevating academic ties: PSU Trang Campus and UUM Malaysia launch joint education & research initiative
The Faculty of Commerce and Management, Prince of Songkla University, Trang Campus, organized the “Education & Research Collaboration” project from February 10–11, 2026, at the Faculty of Commerce and Management. The project aimed to strengthen cooperation in teaching, learning, and research with the College of Business, Universiti Utara Malaysia (UUM), Malaysia.
Asst. Prof. Dr. Parichat Maneemai, Dean of the Faculty of Commerce and Management, welcomed the delegation from UUM, which included: Prof. Dr. Noor Afza Amran, Director of the Asian Research Institute for Corporate Governance (ARICG), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Azharudin Ali, Director of the Institute for Strategic and Sustainable Accounting Development (ISSAD), Assoc. Prof. Dr. Shazida Jan Binti Mohd Khan, Researcher from the Economics and Financial Policy Institute (ECoFI) The visit served as an opportunity to discuss guidelines for academic collaboration with the faculty's academic staff.



The project also featured special lectures on the topics of 'Basic Accounting Equation', 'Transmission Mechanism of Monetary Policy', and 'SDG vs ESG Agenda' for students in the Bachelor of Accountancy and Business English programs. These were held at the Prince of Songkla University Theater, Trang Campus, to enhance knowledge and perspectives in accounting, monetary economics, and sustainability within a contemporary business context.


Continuing on February 11, 2026, the Faculty organized a knowledge exchange and research collaboration session. Key presentations included topics such as the study of Halal awareness and financial practices among small-scale entrepreneurs in Trang Province; a comparative study of saving patterns and factors affecting the financial sustainability of small businesses in Trang Province and Kedah State, Malaysia; and the promotion of financial literacy among female entrepreneurs. Furthermore, the session aimed to expand collaboration with ISSAD for future research development and joint academic activities.
The organization of this project marks another significant step in elevating cooperation in teaching, research, and the potential development of students and faculty members at an international level. It also fosters an academic network between Thailand and Malaysia to expand the body of knowledge toward sustainable business and economic development at the regional level.
