PSU participates in AUN Leadership Forum in the Philippines to advance global higher education
A PSU delegation, led by PSU President Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, participated in the 16th ASEAN University Network (AUN) Rectors’ Meeting and the 40th AUN Board of Trustees (AUN-BOT) Meeting, held from 24 to 25 July 2025 in Manila, the Philippines, co-hosted by De La Salle University (DLSU) and the University of the Philippines (UP).
The Rectors’ Meeting on 24 July 2025, held under the theme “From Networks to Impact: The Future of Global Higher Education”, brought together university leaders to explore how multilateral collaboration can address global challenges and drive sustainable development in higher education. Key sessions focused on strategic partnerships, anticipatory leadership, and institutional transformation, featuring speakers from leading ASEAN institutions and international organizations.
Representing PSU, Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakerng Wongsirichot, Vice President for Academic and International Affairs and Chair of the AUN Dx Executive Board, delivered a presentation on “AUN Strategic Focus in Digital Transformation (AUN Dx)”.
On 25 July 2025, the 40th AUN-BOT Meeting, hosted by the AUN Secretariat, reviewed the Network’s progress from July 2024 to June 2025 and discussed key agenda items, including the appointment of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Thanapan Laiprakobsup as the new AUN Executive Director, and Prof. Dr. Supachai Pathumnakul, Secretary-General of Thailand’s MHESI, as the new Chairperson of the AUN Board.
The meeting also addressed amendments to the AUN Constitution, the adoption of AUN-QA Version 3.0, the establishment of the AUN-Agriculture and Food Security (AUN-AFS) Thematic Network, and confirmed the hosting responsibilities for AUN activities in 2025–2026.
The upcoming 17th AUN Presidents’ Meeting and 41st AUN-BOT Meeting are scheduled to take place in Singapore in July 2026.
