PSU welcomes Fukuyama Heisei University delegation to sign MOU, promote academic cooperation
On 30 June 2025, PSU warmly welcomed a delegation from Fukuyama Heisei University (FHU), Japan, during their official visit to strengthen bilateral relations and sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) aimed at fostering academic collaboration, including student and staff exchanges as well as joint research between the two institutions.
The MOU signing ceremony was held at the President’s Office Building, PSU Hat Yai Campus. The event was honored by the presence of Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President of PSU, and Prof. Dr. Akio Fuji, President of Fukuyama Heisei University, along with representatives from both PSU and FHU.
Currently, the two universities are engaged in an ongoing student exchange project under the Sakura Science Program. Both institutions have expressed a strong intention to further expand their collaboration, particularly through joint initiatives and collaborative research in the near future.
As part of the visit, the delegation had the opportunity to explore and engage in fruitful discussions on mutual collaboration with several faculties at PSU, including the Faculty of Traditional Thai Medicine, Faculty of Liberal Arts, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Nursing, and the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism at PSU Phuket Campus.
The visit of the delegation from Fukuyama Heisei University marks another significant milestone in advancing academic partnerships between Thai and Japanese universities, reflecting a shared commitment to enhancing educational quality and promoting sustainable internationalization.
