Phuket Campus hosts “Global ESG for Hospitality and Tourism 2025” to advance sustainable tourism development




From 23 to 25 May 2025, the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism, PSU Phuket Campus, hosted the international conference “Global ESG for Hospitality and Tourism 2025” in collaboration with the Consortium for Global Sustainability, founded by the University of Houston, USA. The event was held as part of the 3rd Global ESG Conference 2025. The opening ceremony was presided over by Asst. Prof. Dr. Niwat Keawpradub, President of PSU, who also delivered the keynote address. Distinguished attendees included Prof. Dr. Kaye Chon from The Hong Kong Polytechnic University; Prof. Dr. Ki-Joon Back, Founder of the Consortium for Global Sustainability, University of Houston; and Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pornpisanu Promsivapallop, Dean of the Faculty of Hospitality and Tourism, PSU Phuket Campus. The event held at the Four Points by Sheraton Phuket Patong Beach Resort, Thailand.





The conference brought over 150 participants from 13 countries, including academics, students, and industry professionals in the fields of hospitality and tourism. A major highlight of the event was the presence of nine visiting professors from leading universities all over the world, who delivered keynote lectures and shared real-world case studies and best practices from internationally recognized organizations. One of the key activities was the Pre-Conference Seminar on “Innovative Data Analytics,” which focused on enhancing participants’ data analysis skills to support sustainable decision-making. Another featured session was the Distinguished Panel Discussions, comprising two main topics. ESG in the Hospitality and Tourism Industry – Challenges and Innovations, explored emerging issues, challenges, and innovative approaches in applying ESG principles within the global hospitality and tourism sectors.


The conference also provided a platform for researchers and students to present their academic work at both national and international levels. Presentations covered a wide range of topics, including environmental management, community engagement, and innovations in sustainable tourism. In addition, the event featured academic skill competitions among students from various countries, showcasing the capabilities and global potential of the next generation of young leaders.


The conference marked another significant step in strengthening collaborative networks in Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) among researchers, academics, and industry professionals in the service sector. It reflected growing international interest and awareness of sustainability issues and served as a catalyst for continued academic development, research, and innovation.
