Prince of Songkla University received an invitation from General Vaphirom Manasrungsee, Deputy Chief Aide-de-Camp General and Chairman of the Committee for the Royal Project on Educational Assistance to the Kingdom of Cambodia, to participate in offering scholarships to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn. These scholarships are to be granted to Cambodian students to pursue their studies in Thailand as part of the Royal Project for Educational Assistance to the Kingdom of Cambodia.
Prince of Songkla University first offered these scholarships in the 2012 academic year. The university, along with the relevant faculties, jointly shares responsibility for expenses beyond the tuition and fees of the scholarship recipients, with each side covering half of the additional costs.

Summary of the number of students:
Prince of Songkla University and related departments jointly offered scholarships to Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn to be granted to Cambodian students to study in Thailand under the Royal Project for Educational Assistance to the Kingdom of Cambodia. The first cohort was admitted in the 2012 academic year.
From the academic years 2012 to 2023, a total of 153 students have been admitted under the project. This includes 92 undergraduate students, 58 master’s students, and 3 doctoral students.
A total of 119 scholarship students have completed their studies under the project. This includes 70 undergraduate students, 48 master’s students, and 1 doctoral student.
A total of 22 scholarship students admitted under the project have discontinued their studies. This includes 14 undergraduate students, 7 master’s students, and 1 doctoral student.
In the 2024 academic year, a total of 12 scholarship students are currently studying under the project. This includes 8 undergraduate students, 3 master’s students, and 1 doctoral student.
Notes:
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the university postponed the admission of 5 students who had passed the selection process for the 2020 academic year (1 undergraduate student, 3 master’s students, and 1 doctoral student) to the 2021 academic year. They began their studies alongside 7 students who passed the selection for the 2021 academic year (5 undergraduate students and 2 master’s students).
The project suspended scholarship allocation for the 2022 academic year due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
