Prince of Songkla University has a Faculty Senate and a University Staff Council that serve as a voice for both academic and administrative personnel, regardless of gender and ethnicity.

  • The Faculty Senate of Prince of Songkla University (PSU) plays an important role in setting policies and directing educational administration, as well as promoting and enhancing the quality of education within the university. It consists of faculty members from various departments.        
Roles and Responsibilities of the Faculty Senate
1.Setting Educational Policies: The Faculty Senate is responsible for proposing guidelines and policies related to education and curriculum development to align with societal and economic needs.
2.Supporting Research: The Senate promotes research activities and the development of innovations that benefit society.
3.Developing Faculty Welfare and Rights: It provides recommendations for improving the welfare and benefits of faculty members at the university.
4.Coordination: The Senate collaborates with various internal and external organizations to foster cooperation in education and research.
Operations of the Faculty Senate.
  • Meetings: The Faculty Senate holds regular meetings to discuss issues and development strategies related to education.
  • Participation: It encourages faculty members from all departments to contribute ideas and new initiatives.
This structure allows for a comprehensive approach to enhancing the educational environment and ensuring that faculty needs are met while also addressing the broader goals of the university.

  • University Staff Council is a representative body within Prince of Songkla University that serves as a platform for the university’s staff to voice their concerns, suggestions, and needs. It includes members from administrative sectors and plays a key role in promoting fair treatment, welfare, and professional development for all employees, regardless of gender, ethnicity, or other distinctions. The council works to ensure effective communication between university management and the staff, aiming to foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment.
