1.3.3 Low-income student support
Metric: University anti-poverty programmes
Provide support (e.g. food, housing, transportation, legal services) for students from low income families to enable them to complete university.
Prince of Songkla University (PSU) provides comprehensive support to ensure that students from low-income families can successfully complete their studies. The university’s assistance covers tuition waivers, on-campus housing, meal and living allowances, transportation support, and legal counseling services for students in need.
In addition, the “Dormitory Sharing Smiles and Happiness” activity, organized 1–2 times a year by PSU’s student dormitory, promotes student well-being during final exam periods. The program provides free food to energize and encourage students, supporting both their physical and mental health, thereby contributing to their academic success and retention.
