6.5.6 Promoting conscious water usage on campus

Metric: Water in the community

Actively promote conscious water usage on campus

Prince of Songkla University actively promotes water conservation and responsible water use across all campuses through a range of practical and awareness-based initiatives.

Key actions include:

- Installing water-saving awareness signs in restrooms and public areas to encourage behavioral change among students and staff.

- Replacing conventional water fixtures with high-efficiency models, such as sensor-based faucets and low-flow systems, to reduce unnecessary water use.

- Implementing online water metering systems for real-time monitoring and management of campus water consumption.

- Landscaping with drought-tolerant and native plant species that require minimal irrigation, supporting long-term sustainability.

- Recycling treated wastewater for reuse, particularly for landscape irrigation and cleaning purposes.

Through these integrated measures, PSU fosters a culture of water consciousness within the university community, ensuring that every member contributes to sustainable water management and environmental stewardship.
