Have policies around use minimisation of disposable items

    Prince of Songkla University is actively advancing its commitment to sustainable development in alignment with the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). To raise awareness within the Songkhla community and encourage participation in reducing plastic and foam packaging—major contributors to global warming and greenhouse gas emissions—the university has enacted the 2023 Policy on Promoting the Reduction of Plastic Use and the Prohibition of Foam which includes reducing the use of single-use plastic cups and straws for consumers. Shift from single-use items to containers that are safe for health or packaging that is reusable or environmentally friendly, such as paper, bagasse, banana fiber, betel nut sheath, bamboo, or cassava. Shops may charge consumers an additional fee for these alternative containers as deemed appropriate or at the discretion of the overseeing department.
